FINAL NINE
FINAL NINEisa compact and competitivecard gamebasedontherules, equipment, features, design, and quirks of DISC GOLF. It's a game about making decisions, pickingthe bestDISC,applyingSKILL, avoidingTROUBLE[or CALLS], hoping forLUCK, and ultimately making thePUTT.
FINAL NINEis not a completeemulation of DISC GOLF,it’s more like a caddy, to help you pick the right angle, see the bestline, and build aTHROWfrom theDISCSandSKILLat your disposal.
FINAL NINEcan be played over 9HOLES, 18HOLES, or Mega 3-6-9HOLES. Itcan be played with STANDARD RULES or BATTLE RULES, at a REC, AMor PROLevel of Play. You can use half the cards or double packs, play as a single-playeror up to 4 players per 18HOLES.
GAME PLAY
FINAL NINEis based on the same principle as physical DISC GOLF: get yourDISCfrom theHOLE'S TEE PADto its BASKETin the least number ofTHROWS, using SKILL, avoiding TROUBLE, and having LUCK.
Game Play inFINAL NINEfollows a sequence ofACTIONS, inside which you make your decisions. Each player has a HAND of 9 cards, made up of any number ofDISCorACTIONcards. Play them to determine your FLIGHT, and landingGRID, for eachTHROW, up/down or across eachHOLE card.
To get from theTEE GRIDto theBASKET GRIDinFINAL NINEyou must choose theDISCyou want to use, addSKILLif you want, thenTHROW. Watch out forDEVIATIONSandCALLSthough, as you may need to use someLUCK. Decide,THROW, andPUTTyour way to finish theHOLE.
THE CARDS
There are 3categories of cardinFINAL NINE: DISCcards, ACTIONcards, and HOLE cards.Withineach category, there aredifferent card types, features, abilities, and effects foreachTHROW you build and make.
DISCcards includeDRIVERcards,MID-RANGEcards, andPUTTERcards; each areForehand andBackhand specific.ACTIONcardsincludeSKILLcards,DEVIATIONcards, LUCKcards, andCALLcards.
DISCcards andACTIONcards are designed to interact with each other throughout the game[to changethe FLIGHT and OUTCOME],though they are never shuffled together. The cards have been colour coded to make selection quicker and easier from your HAND, each with a corresponding card type Icon.
